Oklahoma
County Sheriff’s Office says “OK” to the OSL
Software Suite
Ottawa,
Ontario – March 2005 – Our Software Ltd. (OSL) and
the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office are pleased to
announce the signing of a contract to provide a Time
Keeping, Attendance and Scheduling (TAS) software
solution for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Oklahoma
County, located in the State’s geographical center is
home to more than 700,000 residents located in an area
of 720 square miles. Mandated to provide professional
and quality law enforcement, custodial and court-related
services to its residents, the Oklahoma County
Sheriff’s Office is staffed by 700 full-time officers
and 300 reserve deputies.
The
Challenge:
A major
challenge facing the Sheriff’s office was managing
employees’ and supervisors’ time-bank and payroll
preparation activities. The existing process required
employees and supervisors to manually enter time card
data. Supervisors checked for accuracy before forwarding
to payroll where the cards were checked a second time.
Any discrepancy found by payroll required another
supervisory clarification.
The
Solution:
Implementing
the OSL Time Keeping, Attendance and Scheduling (TAS)
software will allow the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s
Office to manage staff schedules, time owed to employees
and prepare payroll. Users can create customized time
banks to suit their needs. TAS also provides exceptional
reporting capability to provide information quickly and
accurately.
The
Benefits:
The
Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office intends to use their
new TAS software solution to realize the following
benefits:
Ø More efficient by dramatically reducing
the time spent calculating time cards
Ø More effective by eliminating manual
timecard processes for officers and supervisors
Ø
More productive by reducing the paperwork
associated with accurate record keeping
Ø
More profitable by minimizing errors
associated with manual timecard calculation and data
collection
“Computerization of timekeeping
and payroll functions has been a vision and goal for
several years”, stated Sheriff John Whetsel.
“We continue to streamline and professionalize
our internal operations to save taxpayer dollars so they
can better be used in fighting crime and keeping our
citizens safe on our streets.”
